How to find Cheap Flights
Trying to find cheap flights but don't know where to start?
So you're looking for a cheap holiday or getaway, and that means you're going to have to save some money somehow.
Well probably the biggest saving you can make is on your flight. So how can you be sure that you will find the best deal?
Increasingly tourists are turning to the internet to make sure they find the best deals, in particular by using comparison sites to find a cheap flight. These sites work by comparing the prices of flights from numerous airlines and tourist agencies this means that instead of you having to visit each airlines website or tourist agency you can rely on just one search to find you the cheapest flight. In effect they take your single search for a flight and turn it into as many searches as airlines and agencies they know about, then merging all the flights they find into one big list and showing you the cheapest flights.
Cheaper Flights and Return Flights
So what are the disadvantages to using such a service, well none really unless you consider the time you save. Of course the only problem might be that you can't find the route you want, let say a flight to Russia, Moscow in particular but you don't want to arrive at the rather crowded Sheremetyevo airport, but instead at the more modern and nicer airport for tourists which is Domodedovo. Well up until now most flight comparison sites (and in fact a lot of airlines) wouldn't support such searches and instead you could only search for flights to say Moscow, Russia or South Spain, however recently I found a flights comparison site called holidaysflightshotels.com which supports searching for flights on a much more detailed level, you can even specify the age of the passengers to make sure you get exactly the correct price. In addition it's even possible to search for flights from non-UK airports, so say you've got a holiday home in Bulgaria and want to book a return flight to Heathrow, UK up until now there weren't any flight comparison sites that supported this well somewhat to my suprise this one does! and in fact it found some pretty good deals.
Alternate Destinations
Now that we've worked out how we are going to find our cheap flight, the next thing to consider is how else we can save some money on our flight and holiday. Well when your searching for your flight, don't forget to look for cheap flights from nearby airports, there's a good chance that there will be a cheaper flight from a nearby airport and the bit extra it costs you in taxis or train fares is probably going to be offset by the money you save on your flight. Also depending upon your holiday destination alter the days on which you search a bit, for instance weekend flights to spain will be the most expensive normally, so concentrate on mid-week flights. Where as if your flying to Moscow consider a weekend flight as there are fewer tourists to Moscow and more business travellers.
Remember flexibility is the key when you are looking for a cheap flight or holiday.
